NURSING SCIENCE (NQF Level 8)

BTech: (Baccalaureus Technologiae)

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) is associated with the Western Cape College of Nursing (WCCN) for the 4 year B.Tech Nursing degree.We hope to offer new programmes on undergraduate and postgraduate levels from 2024. This will depend on final SANC approval and Higher Education accreditation of the new programmes. The last intake of our current programmes will be 2024.

Career Information

This degree is registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and on completion of the programme you will be registered as a Professional Nurse with qualifications in: General Nursing; Community Nursing; Psychiatric Nursing; Midwifery.

The course is comprised of theoretical studies and clinical practicals. The clinical practicals will take place at a variety of accredited hospitals and community settings during the 4 year period of study.

AccommodationA limited amount of accommodation is available to successful applicants who are attending the respective CPUT campus outside a 50 km radius.

Ensure that you indicate clearly on the application form whether you want to study at the Metro East campus (Athlone), Boland Overberg campus (Worcester) or the South Cape/Karoo (George) campus.

This degree is registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and on completion of the programme you will be registered as a Professional Nurse with qualifications in: General Nursing; Community Nursing; Psychiatric Nursing; Midwifery. The course is comprised of theoretical studies and clinical practicals. The clinical practicals will take place at a variety of accredited hospitals and community settings during the 4 year period of study. A year community service follows under direction of the Department of Health.
