Mediclinic (Pty) Ltd is a registered company operating in the private health industry. The Company registration number is 1969/009218/07. Mediclinic also have six other Learning Centres throughout the country namely: Tshwane Regional Learning Centre (Pretoria), Nelspruit Learning Centre (Mpumalanga), Northern Cape Learning Centre (Kimberly), Cape Region Learning Centre (Western Cape), Limpopo Mediclinic Learning Centre (Polokwane) and Northern Region Mediclinic Learning Centre (Gauteng).
The Diploma in Operating Department Assistance is accredited by the Council on Higher Education and registered by the DeBloemfonteinpartment of Higher Education and Training. On completion of the programme, the learner will not be eligible to register at any of the existing professional councils. The Diploma in Emergency Medical care is accredited by the Council on Higher Education, Health Professions Council of South Africa and registered by the Department of Higher Education and Training.

Mediclinic Learning / Nursing Programmes:

- Certificate in Enrolled Nursing. (NB- Certificate in Enrolled Nursing was discontinued by the South African Nursing Council SANC until further notice. Please visit the Mediclinic website from time to time, for the accreditation of the new nursing qualifications.)
Mediclinic Learning / Nursing Requirement for Diploma in Emergency Medical Care:
Grade 12 with admission to a Diploma or equivalent with an average of 50% and in the case of a Vocational National certificate an average of 50% is required. If you are currently in Grade 11, submit your year end results for Grade 11. Candidates with relevant EMS experience can apply for RPL.
National senior certificate
• Physical science – NQF Level 4 with minimum of 40%
• Mathematics – NQF Level 4 with minimum of 40% or
• English communication skills – NQF Level 4 with minimum of 40%
• South African citizenship
National Vocational certificate
• Physical science – NQF Level 4 with a minimum of 50%
• Mathematics – NQF Level 4 with a minimum of 50% or
• English communication skills – NQF Level 4 with a minimum of 50%
• South African citizenship
Recognition of Prior Learning minimum requirements
• Grade 12 with an aggregate of 950 marks and above
• Be 25 years and older
• Be registered Ambulance Emergency Assistant (AEA) with the HPCSA
• Have a minimum of 5 years operational experience
• Be currently employed by an Emergency Medical Services
Requirements for Diploma in Operating Department Assistance:
Grade 12 with admission to higher certificate or equivalent with an average of 50%; Old certificate: D-aggregate (950 marks).
If you are currently in Grade 11, submit your year-end results for Grade 11.
National Senior certificate
• Any science subject – NQF Level 4 with minimum of 40% (e.g. Life Science, physical science and biology)
• Mathematics – NQF Level 4 with minimum of 40% or
• Mathematics Literacy – NQF Level 4 with a minimum of 50%

Registration fee
All qualifying applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of R200. Banking details will only be provided to qualifying applicants.

Funding model
Successful applicants will be employed by Mediclinic (Pty) Ltd, which funds the programme as well as prescribed books for the employees. Learners are responsible for the costs of any recommended books.
Mediclinic does not provide accommodation, transport or meals for any programme.
